It's a long time since Corinne Drewery and Andy Connell (the longstanding partnership that is Swing Out Sister) had a big hit. There 2002 album 'Somewhere Deep In The Night' was sophisticated late night lounge, yet it failed to light up the charts in the way that the 80s pop hits 'Breakout' and 'Surrender' did. Step forward then 'Where Our Love Grows', the duo's eighth studio album and their most impressive to date. Coming across like a cross between Saint Etienne and Air, 'Where Our Love Grows' is underpinned by a cinematic vibe that mixes jazz, lush arrangements and well thought out melodies to sublime effect. This is the sophisti-pop album of 2004.
