2017 release. Hailing from Okemah, OK, Shawna Russell is a multi-talented, sought-after singer/songwriter, musician and television personality. Performing and touring with her family's band since her teens while traversing the treacherous path of the entertainment industry has brought her to where she is today - releasing her third project on Our Land Records. After a six-year hiatus from recording, Russell is truly coming Back Around with a collection of songs she wrote or co-wrote with her band members which also happen to be family. Russell says, When we began Back Around, we decided it would be a completely organic, home-grown record, created and produced by my family, my band and me. We were able to just be ourselves and let the world know who the Russell family is. We wanted to play our original songs and also pay homage to our musical heroes, she continues. For the first time, we were able to use our family harmonies as an instrument on the tracks.
