Gubba' is the eagerly awaited new full-length from singer/songwriter Jonathan Boulet, which follows on from his two previously critically acclaimed albums in 2009 and 2012.

After a very successful UK/EU tour and performances at SXSW early last year, Boulet relocated from Sydney to Berlin, sans band and sans plan. 'Gubba' is the result. Entirely self-produced, the album is much faster, heavier and more direct than its predecessors.

The album signals his departure from his first home, Modular, for the more grassroots alternative legends over at Popfrenzy. Whilst it's not uncommon for an artist to make such a move, upon listening to "Hold It Down" it triggers the thought ? perhaps this darker sound was possibly too much for Modular, or exactly what Popfrenzy were looking for. And that's exactly what you get from the single; a dark, twisted folk-lo-fi-garage number ? full of tribal rhythms and distorted, layered guitars.
