Mutual Admiration Society 2 celebrates the reuniting of vibist Joe Locke and pianist David Hazeltine, and marks the ten year anniversary of their highly acclaimed 1999 Mutual Admiration Society release. In the intervening ten years the careers of these two multitalented artists have blossomed so that they are now acknowledged as major stylists on their respective instruments. As with the original session, the band seeks to explore the limits of the straight-ahead tradition with a wide range of originals and arrangements of covers tunes (Jimmy Rowles' "The Peacocks" and Stevie Wonder's "If It's Magic").
