In Swedish with English Subtitles) He's got no style, he's got no flash and he's squarely in middle age. But Swedish detective Martin Beck is good at one thing: methodically catching criminals so that they can be put away... for a long time. His tightly-wound partner, Gunvald, is his opposite: an impulsive man who cuts a dashing figure, is in no way politically correct and who never met a boundary he didn t leap across. He'll do anything to get information from a suspect, including enhanced interrogation techniques. It's classic good cop/bad cop, and together with their team they bring down dangerous criminals lurking in the seedy Stockholm underworld. Beck's a loner but he's not anti-social; he regularly sees his daughter, with whom he now has a much better relationship than when he was neglecting her growing up. And at the end of a workday, there's always an interesting conversation and a nightcap with a neighbor who gives new meaning to the word quirky. EPISODE 22: THE WEAK LINK The parents of a young woman discover their daughter s body, brutally murdered in a public park. A review of other reported rape attacks in Stockholm shows a link between the crime scenes and the blue metro line. EPISODE 23: THE SILENT SCREAM Two girls are killed instantly when they re hit by a train. Beck and his team have a few leads, and learn about the pressure and intimidation the young women faced in their everyday lives before their sudden and gruesome deaths. Was it a double-suicide or murder? EPISODE 24: IN THE NAME OF GOD A photographer is found dead after his apartment was ransacked. When Beck's boss goes through the evidence, she reacts so strongly to two photos found in the apartment that she hides them from the team. Gunvald goes undercover to get to the bottom of it all.
